DEFINING SACRED SPACEThis drawing represents our response to a recent commission to enhance the already existing chapel of the Poor Clare's Annunciation Monastery in Minooka, IL. The addition of the arches around the altar defines the structure and adds decorative elements, while still maintaining a simplicity of form. The sanctuary's windows, which open up to other rooms, unnecessarily break up the wall space and will be removed to provide places for figurative paintings.
Red Fern Studio has already manufactured & installed the largest of eight Roman arches, which, including the pillars, measures 16' in height & spans a 12' opening.
With all of its architectural design, Red Fern Studio seeks to create a balanced and unified space, which is proportionate to the human spirit.
